Blue Cypress Conservation Area Trail

This conservation area is part of the Upper St. Johns River Basin Project implemented by the District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Now considered to be in long-term maintenance phase, this project helps reduce flooding, restore and maintain natural hydrologic cycles and protect water quality. It also reduces freshwater diversions to the Indian River Lagoon estuary and enhances native habitat for fish and wildlife. Source: St. Johns River Water Management District

Recreational activities:

Wildlife viewing, fishing, seasonal hunting, bicycling and hiking along many miles of levees, primitive camping at designated sites, canoeing and boating.
