Generally considered an easy route in flat water. This 25 mile trail is great for birding, camping, boating/paddling, fishing and water skiing, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
The Cashie winds through Bertie County for more than 20 miles and is home of the Sans Souci Ferry, one of the State's last operational two-car ferries. The Cashie has an average depth of 20 feet but in some spots can be as deep as 80 feet.
Overnight primitive platform campsites are available throughout the route which are accessible by water. Reservations for campsites and further information may be found at:
Roanoke River Partners.
